PAB, bu sene İstanbul’da gerçekleşen ve kentsel katmanlar üzerine odaklanan SESAM (Small European Students of Architecture Meeting) organizasyonu için atölye yürütücülüğü yapıyor. RE-place-ment isimli atölyede Gültepe-Büyükdere-Levent en kesiti üzerine çalışılacak.

Etkinlik kitapçığında RE-place-ment atölyesi şu şekilde tanıtıldı:

“A hectic business district, Buyukdere Artery,
a dense post-gecekondu neighborhood, Gultepe,
and a serene garden city, Levent…

A fragment cut from the city unfolds three different urban realities which not overlap on top of but stand aside each other, bringing out an extraordinary section. The workshop aims to reveal the contradicting/overlapping/diverging layers of this particular section and project it to the actual urban space.

The workshop will be an operational one; based on search of characteristic signs, re-production and re-placement of them looking for answers to such questions: What gives a place its characteristic? What happens when we remove that element? What if we re-place it? And what if we displace it?… The workshop will be a mental/physical exercise on “placement” that will occur in the very streets of Istanbul.”
